The Prime Minister’s Office announces the opening of submissions for the eighth edition of Fikra
Following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today announced the opening of submissions for the eighth edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra), running from 25 October to 25 November 2026. The competition follows the vision of His Royal Highness to foster a culture of creativity and breed innovation across government.

Fikra reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to encouraging national talent across the public sector and for individuals to propose innovative ideas and develop solutions that enhance government operations, improve service quality and increase performance efficiency. These efforts support the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The launch of the eighth edition reflects the Kingdom’s continued commitment to building on the achievements of previous editions and the innovative initiatives and projects they have generated, which have contributed to further enhancing government work streams.

Fikra has continued to act as a platform for national talent to contribute ideas and innovations that offer practical solutions to enhance institutional performance and develop government services in line with the ongoing requirements of development and modernisation.

Public sector employees and government enterprises may submit their ideas individually or in groups (with a maximum of 4 individuals per group) through the PMO’s website at www.pmo.gov.bh

Ideas should focus on the ways that government services can be developed to improve their efficiency and performance.

All submissions will undergo a preliminary review that will be conducted by the relevant members of the evaluation committee.
