His Majesty delegated HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme commander and First Deputy Premier to the foundation stone for the project in May 2014.

The project features 4500 housing units spread across 270-hectares of land, making it one of the vital strategic development schemes in Bahrain.

The Crown Prince hailed the milestone as part of major development process led by His Majesty King Hamad. He emphasized the importance of boosting the development momentum, emphasizing equality and justice among nationals.

The Crown Prince urged hope and dedicated efforts to improve stability and preserve the national identity. The project includes housing units, land plots and flats, and forms a part of official policies to build full-fledged residential towns boasting all amenities.

On completion, it will contribute to meet the applications on the waiting list since 2009, said Bassem Al Hamer, the Housing Minister, while also paying tribute to the King for patronising the ceremony.

As part of the first stage of the multi-phase project, about 500 housing units and an equal number of plots were distributed to the nationals in Hidd, on the sidelines of the ceremony.
